Colgan is not retiring and still seems to have some spirit in him for the campaign

Based on past election results this seat seems pretty safely in Republican hands
for now. |

Bill Day |
D |
I don't really know anything about Bill Day. I think I shook his hand once but that
is the extent of the contact I have had with him. It will be hard for him to beat
Lingamfelter and I doubt that the party will be throwing much money or effort into
this race. |

Gil Faisal |
R |
Faisal beat Lucas. Hmmm... okay, I called that one wrong. If Lucas had won the primary
I would have called this one for her, now I might have to say toss up. Faisal has
some issues that the Democrats will love to use against him. You can bet that they
were thrilled that he won the primary. |
|
|
Paul Nichols |
D |
Jeff Dion was run out of this race from within his own party and replaced by Nichols
who is a family law attorney... but Faisal has weaknesses that the Dems could exploit...

Bob Marshall* |

It is no secret that I don't like Marshall at all. I think the man is nuts. Unfortunately
based on past election results it seems unlikely that he will be unseated this year. |
X |
|
Bruce Roemmelt |
D |
I know Bruce, I like Bruce. Bruce is going to give it his all again this year and
I wish him all the best. In 2005 he lost to Marshall by a little more than 10% of
the vote. I don't know that he will be able to get much closer this year based on
2006 election results (including the passage of the Marriage Amendment). |

quite bright. |

Miller seems pretty safe right now having just won the seat in a Special Election
(and not having made any major public mistakes in his first session). |
X |
|
Jeanette Rishell |
D |
Contrary to some opinions Rishell gave Miller a pretty good run in 2006. She is
running again this year and if she doesn't face competition from within her own
party I would expect that she would run another good campaign this year. |

Corey Stewart* |

Just having been promoted to Chairman in the recent Special Election Stewart currently
seems to be sure bet to win reelection in November. The question is... or questions...
have the citizens of PWC seen Stewart do anything to make him worthy of keeping
his job? And has the fracture within the PWCRC helped or hurt his chances? |
X |
|
Sharon Pandak |
|
Pandak is back and ready for round two with Stewart. I really respect Sharon for
going again so soon after her loss in November. Having seen her at her campaign
kick off the other week I can tell you that she is ready this time and the longer
campaign cycle should help as well. Pandak should be able to make a good case that
Stewart hasn't been very effective in his role but that doesn't mean voters will
listen or care anymore than they did for the special election. |

John Jenkins* |

In office since the 1980's Jenkins seems pretty safe in his seat on the board. So
far I haven't heard of any serious challengers. |
X |
|
Others? |
|
Nope, Stevie "Boy" Chapman never got up the nerve to challenge Jenkins. Rumor has
it the many people (including Republicans) told him not to bother that he would
not get any support from the party or any other significant organization in the
district. |

Chris Royse |
R |
Chris Royse has an impressive resume of service including stints in the Special
Forces. I don't know much about him other than what is listed on his web site (http://www.votechris.com) but he looks like
a strong candidate. |
|
|
Steve Keen |
I |
Steve Keen, formerly the Woodbridge representative on the School Board, according
to reports he is running for BOCS as an Independent. While I doubt he has a chance
to win, he could, could siphon votes from either Royse or Principi... |
|
|
Frank Principi |
D |
Frank is a good guy. Very bright and a succesful business owner. He has practical
experience working on Capitol Hill and with a variety of governmental agencies.
I like Frank's chances in the race minus the vote siphoning of the two Independent
candidates. |
|
|
Luiz Ramirez |
I |
Juan Ramirez, husband of School Board Member Denita Ramirez, decided to run why?
Rumor has it that the forces within that Woodbridge committee of the PWCDC that
wanted Delimba to win the primary put him up to it to siphon votes away from Principi.
Ramirez has no real chance of winning but maybe he will damage Principi's campaign? |

Mike should win this one. First, he seems like a decent guy. Second, he hasn't had

have anything to office that May doesn't already have. 'nough said. |

|
John Gray |
I |
Having tried running as a Democrat, Republican, and now Independent, Gray is just
sort of setting himself up to get tagged as a waffler. What are you Mr. Gray? Really?
You give real Independents a bad name. |

I have met Corey Riley a number of times in differnt settings. While I don't know
him very well I don't think that I would be going out on a limb to say that he is
bright and very presentable as a candidate. He could make the race interesting but
Stirrup goes in to this race with a clear advantage. |
